About Ann
Ann is an experienced music therapist, performer, and educator with a strong academic foundation and a compassionate, client-centered approach. She holds a BA (Hons) in Music, an MLitt in Ethnomusicology, and an MA in Music Therapy.
Over the course of her career, Ann has worked across a wide range of settings and age groups—from young children to older adults—in schools, hospitals, hospices, family homes, and care facilities. Her clinical expertise includes palliative care, neurodisability, dementia, and special educational needs.
Ann’s therapeutic approach is shaped by academic rigor and a deep respect for each individual’s experience. Her background in ethnomusicology provides a unique lens on how music shapes identity and emotional expression—perspectives she thoughtfully integrates into her sessions. Whether easing anxiety in palliative care or creating immersive soundscapes for individuals with dementia, she tailors her work to meet the specific needs of each client.
She is particularly passionate about inclusive practice, facilitating meaningful, engaging sessions that support emotional expression, personal development, and human connection.
In addition to her clinical work, Ann offers music therapy supervision to both qualified music therapists and students. She provides a reflective, supportive space for exploring casework, enhancing clinical skills and fostering professional growth.
